Dr. Mahipal Singh Sankhla, born on May 19, 1994, in Udaipur, Rajasthan, is a distinguished academic and researcher in the field of forensic science. He completed his B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. in Forensic Science and Ph.D. in Forensic Science from Galgotias University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. His academic journey is marked by several prestigious accolades, including the “Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)” at MNIT, Jaipur, and the “Young Scientists Award,” “Young Researcher Award,” and “Forensic Researcher Award.”

Dr. Sankhla has made significant contributions to forensic science, with a remarkable portfolio of intellectual property. He holds three Indian patents, two Indian copyrights, and one German patent. He has filed and published 63 Indian patents, showcasing his innovative work in forensic science and related fields. His extensive research has led to the publication of over 200 peer-reviewed journal articles, along with contributions to more than 30 book chapters.

In addition to his research, Dr. Sankhla has edited eight books and serves as a Guest Editor for several renowned journals, including Current Forensic ScienceCurrent Nanoscience, and Current Materials Science, all published by Bentham Science. His expertise in the field has earned him recognition as a Fellow Member of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF).

Currently, Dr. Mahipal Singh Sankhla holds the position of Assistant Professor at the University Centre for Research and Development (UCRD), Chandigarh University, Mohali, Punjab. He has also been nominated by the Government of India as a Mentor for the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) under NITI Aayog, where he plays a pivotal role in establishing Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) in schools across India, fostering innovation and creativity among young students.

Throughout his career, Dr. Sankhla has actively contributed to the academic growth of his students and the broader forensic science community. He has been involved in groundbreaking research, including the application of artificial intelligence in forensic science, which has been highlighted in his book, Artificial Intelligence in Forensic Science: An Emerging Technology in Criminal Investigation Systems, published by CRC Press. His work in environmental forensics and nanotechnology for forensic applications continues to push the boundaries of the field.
